I accidentally downloaded the 1640 firmware posted before http://denis-krevedko.narod.ru/ml_1640_1641.zip unto my ML-2240. Now my printer won't work the led keep flshing red. I've tried what oopooo recommended It’s only because you did it badly!!! 1. Trun off your printer. 2. Start your computer. 3. Push the orange button, and keep pushing. 4. Then turn on your printer (with the button on the back of the printer). BUT YOU HAVE TO KEEP PUSHING THE ORANGE BUTTON! 5. Then the LEDs start blinking (5-15 sec later), you can release the orange button. 6. You can repeat the firmware installing procedure. BUT IF YOU DO THE UPDATE AGAIN THE WRONG WAY THEN IT WON’T WORK! PLEASE READ EVERYTHING CAREFULLY! If you can’t reupgrade the firmware repeate the 6 steps procedure until it won’t work! Still won't work need help........ please Need help!!!!!!!!!!

It’s only because you did it badly!!!
1. Trun off your printer.
2. Start your computer.
3. Push the orange button, and keep pushing.
4. Then turn on your printer (with the button on the back of the printer). BUT YOU HAVE TO KEEP PUSHING THE ORANGE BUTTON!
5. Then the LEDs start blinking (5-15 sec later), you can release the orange button.
6. You can repeat the firmware installing procedure.

BUT IF YOU DO THE UPDATE AGAIN THE WRONG WAY THEN IT WON’T WORK! PLEASE READ EVERYTHING CAREFULLY!

If you can’t reupgrade the firmware repeate the 6 steps procedure until it won’t work!

After flashing, turn off as describe. Then, turn on and wait some seconds (at least 10 sec). Then, turn off, and remove your original empty toner. Grabb your new generic toner, and remove carefully the chip. Put in your new generic toner as a normal toner, then turn on. you will see the green led switching to the green : successfull ! Last problem : your printer will say to you : "I need INK", but your new generic toner is now fully working.
